Aqua is one of the largest U.S.-based, publicly traded water and wastewater utilities, serving more than three million people in Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.
Founded in 1886 in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Aqua is a water company with more than a century of history and experience. Since the first pipe was laid in 1886, we have been dedicated to improving infrastructure and supply, whether through building reservoirs and treatment plants to service a growing community, or by replacing pipe to strengthen aging systems.
As our nation has grown, so has our company. As early as the 1900s, the company established a growth strategy that still serves as its foundation today, and is responsible for developing Aqua into one of the fastest growing private water and wastewater utilities in the country.
About Aqua’s Water Privatization Services
Today, Aqua cleans billions of gallons of fresh water each year for delivery directly to customers’ taps via thousands of miles of pipe. Our wastewater operations treat millions of gallons of wastewater annually, restoring its quality so it can be safely returned to the environment.
Aqua is equally dedicated to its customers, employees, shareholders and communities, as each represents our success and our potential growth. We earn public trust through integrity, tenacity and the diligence with which we reliably deliver services that are basic to the quality of life we enjoy in the United States – potable water and the disposal of wastewater.
About Aqua’s Corporate Social Responsibility Commitment
Beyond our water and wastewater expertise, Aqua has a commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen. This commitment extends to all aspects of our business, from reducing energy consumption and lowering greenhouse gas emissions to a belief in supplier diversity and providing an inclusive and safe workplace for the company’s 1,600 employees.
